On the loop around to pass that spot, I looked ahead and there was a coyote sitting right where pup didn’t want to be earlier. Pup could sense or smell it?

Could be some forest creature of the fabulous variety. Maybe related to Pan or satyrs. Sylvan animals that are closer to the forest god Pan.
