    Good morning guys!

The one time I’ve stayed up for the starting bell and GoComics is late! Oh, well.

Well so much for my idea of Diet Smith being the mark…..maybe it’s the mayor of Tracy’s city? Now THAT would be an interesting twist.

That’s an interesting collar on Mr. Domain’s suit. I want to say it’s a “Mandarin collar,” but that’s not really it. Anyone know?

Domain’s use of the word Nope seems out of the character we’ve seen and heard the past few days.

@ NIGHT-GAUNT 49: From yesterday: Further reading this morning disclosed the following about denim:

The fabric did indeed originate in Nimes, France. Apparently the first trousers made with the material came from Genoa, Italy (Hence the term “jeans”). A tailor in America hit on the idea of using denim with rivets to make really strong work clothes, and hooked up with the Levi Strauss Co. of San Francisco for distribution.

I wonder if Tracy’s state accepts pennies on the toll roads as Illinois does in our universe. https://www.illinoistollway.com/tolling-information

Our collector could then be a retired toll station worker who would find rare pennies sifting through the tolls :)

If the mark doesn’t know much about phonautographs, and since there’s no particular reason for “phonautograph expert” Silver to claim he knows much about Abraham Lincoln memorabilia, then it shouldn’t be too hard to get ready for the scam, should it?

Found this on the net: (Scott did not visit the US in the 1860s and therefore could not have recorded Lincoln himself, as one version of the legend claims he did.)

So, “…she is a big-time collector” of Lincolniana, ehh? And has sufficiently big bucks to make this elaborate scam worthwhile?Mayor Armstrong (boo! hiss!) comes to mind first, but there may be other women about in the Tracy universe who would be potential buyers/marks. The Dragon Lady would have the money but is probably too sharp to fall for the scam. Who else?
