Don’t worry, Calvin, tigers are nocturnal animals.

Tigers are more important than sleep, in Calvin’s mind.

In my mind, too! Find Hobbes!

Mom, how do you expect Calvin to sleep when Hobbes is lost somewhere?

Hobbes went feral.

It just dawned on me, it isn’t Hobbes that is lost, It’s Calvin that is lost without Hobbes…

Naive mom, you should have gone to look for him right away, but then that wouldn’t be as exciting as searching for him in the dark. We accidently left “Little Foot” at a motel in Baton Rouge on a cross country road trip one time. Thankfully the motel was very thoughtful and forwarded him to us. A close call! Whew! Little Foot still lives happily at my 32 years old son’s house.

I thought the little girl found him and took him home.

OH, Mom! It’s no stunt. Just ask my mother about the earths that were moved when I couldn’t find my Bear…airports, grocery stores, house guests, you name it; there was NO peace until Bear and I were together again.

Just give him 5 minutes and go along with him, Mum.

This strip was written in 1987. Even then they had radio tracking technology. Why not imbed a tracking bug in Hobbes?
