Now that Francis has lost her momentum (mv), she must add energy to overcome inertia and restore her mass to a condition with velocity.

I’m going to have to side with Perry here. Lord knows the women of Ballard Street are, by and large, much more aggrieved by the men than vice-versa. But how else is Perry to unlock the door, if not pause briefly before it to insert a key or two and turn something? If you need to have a head of steam up to get up a few steps, hang back till he’s got the key in the lock, at least.

All speculation to the contrary aside…..

the strip doesn’t say Francis is upset with Perry….

She’s getting older, and, like many in our neighborhood, she never was totally grounded in reality.

Losing her momentum is just a natural consequence ….

becoming more frequent, but not yet always foreseen.

 

Hope springs eternal….

somewhere inside, she still believes herself able to roll with the punches,

blow with the wind, stop on a dime.

Alas….

She is more often knocked for a loop….

She’s not blaming Perry… in fact, she can tell he’s concerned.

More a cause for embarrassment than anger.

 

But the neighbors are quick to say we “women” are all testy.

Which just might make us get that way!

I don’t know which is worse, falling up the steps or falling down them.

They do the same thing every day.

The Van Job i had yesterday was a dry run. The lady just wanted to see how long it would take me to get her into the van, then how long it would take to get her to the Dr. office.

After that we went to Starbucks (drive through) and to a parking lot for beach access. We just sat in the van and watched the ocean, people and pets on the beach.

She was absolutely thrilled!

I’m not sure what’s worse, losing your momentum, or your initiative ?

Of course, if she hadn’t lost her momentum, the peeking Mrs. Higglepooder might have something to get outraged about…

Except the female form is usually “Frances.”
