My little bit of Almost Heaven West Virginia got hammered with what they call a train of thunderstorms yesterday. We are many inches over the annual average at this point. There were lightning strikes hitting within yards of my house and high winds toppled a twelve foot in diameter tree (it wasn’t rotten) into the street just three houses down from me. It took city crews five hours and five or six large dump trucks to chip it and haul it away. As I type this (10 am EDT) a line of thunderstorms is hitting again. I wish we could share this “wealth”, but the lightning would probably start more fires than the rain would put out.

Odd looking rat but it might pass. Chesney is a little sprite…so cute filling out the census report by himself.

I might be in and out for a while,,,,,,the kids are moving in with us for a while, until they can find a place up in Seattle………chaos abounds……..

I did a temp job with the census bureau back in 1990 – the job was so temporary we had cardboard desks!

My husband had to fill out a census one year and where it said race, he checked other and wrote in: RAT. There’s always one in every crowd that is him. >^..^<
