I reckon that must be Elvis with the most insistent – loudest – Ma’am.

Just how I imagine it when Sammy wants something (usually food), endless repetitions of “mum”, “mum”, “mum” … Though no other cat I’ve owned came close to Mozart for constant chattering, I think it was the Siamese in him :)

Once fostered a Siamese waiting for a home. She was so sweet! More like Puck. Oh, I hated to let her go, but she got a good home. Not all Siamese are chatty. Some are downright chummy! Here’s to ALL kitties! God bless ’em!

Nope, they definitely singled you out ma’am. Hope the cat-vengeance isn’t too severe. ☺

I’ve got a Siamese, so I can guess where the loudest “MA’AM!!!” Is coming from.

I moved from Florida to Connecticut, taking several days to drive with the two kitties each in their own carrier in the rear of the hatchback and the back seats down. Starting out each morning, it took two hours for them to quiet down, alternating “Meows,” first one then the other. And I couldn’t play any music because they were right under the speakers.

My cat meows nonstop the minute the carrier door closes. Probably because he knows that car ride means the vet, groomer or boarding.

My Taz does the same thing, Mihorn. Meows nonstop. I’ve found putting a blanket over the carrier calms her down.

I have had cats that said “NOW”… which is also funny… in regards to food. But this? Usually, “Noooooo!”

My black kittie would yell “help!” all the way to the vet. The “help” was so clear that I held my breath expecting a cop to pull me over for kidnapping. Good times.

To everyone who responded to me yesterday, I’m familiar with suspension of disbelief and I’m all for it. I just like a little internal consistency.

When I traveled with cats I used to get up to 250 meows/hour.

One of the first things I loved about BCN way back when was the “Ma’am?” “Ma’am?” “Ma’am?” bit. It’s every cat I’ve ever known getting under my feet, looking up at me and meowing when something I’m doing interests them. It’s every reporter—or crowd of reporters—following some poor sap with a microphone looking for a soundbite.

It still kills me every single time.

My poor Cosmo would scream what sounded like, “Noooooo!!!” The whole way to the vet and back home again.

My trip to the vet with my cat went something like this: " ‘Maooow?" “we’re going to the vet” “NAOOOO” “Yes, you like him” Naooooo!’ “Yes you do.” Naoooooo" “Well, you like the girls there, right?” Naoooooo. “Yes you do!” “Naoooooo” I give up. >^..^<

My cat has been to the vet only once. He said meow when I put the carrier in the car and nothing after that, at all. Even at the vet he had very little to say. The return was the same—amazing!

Thank Cat for BCN! It’s been a lousy day, starting with goComics server going down umpty-squat times this morning, going down like a bomb from there—until I finally got here. Went from “patience my @ÍÍ, I’m gonna kill something!” (old cartoon about buzzards) to something only half past human by the third panel. (Oh good, my ears aren’t furry anymore, and the fangs are small enough that I don’t lisp …) =^D

    Georgia, you’re a sanity saver …

And some of you commenting aren’t bad either!
