Why Calvin lost out for the part of the grandson to Fred Savage in Princess Bride.

Don’t bother telling Calvin about morals or how to live his life. He’s already an exemplar of a gifted child.

One of the lamest punchlines after a promising setup. C&H does set the bar pretty high. I actually expected an “and they lived happily ever after, nighty night”.

I like how Watterson draws the dilemma from different perspectives.

Perfect story: Little Red Riding Hood. No romance and a big scary wolf!

Dad can always read from a recipe book: Beat at high speed until the egg white is stiff and sticks to the beaters.

Is that fast and gripping enough?
