News show how some song artist songs will have meaning to lyrics hot appropriate to certain age levels. So Lila is right about the lyrics not being appropriate.
Anyone remember the catholic church condeming Simon & Garfunkle’s Cecilia? Music will always be a barometer of moral society. However, time makes people forget why a song or artist is so controversial.
I remember the day someone explained to me that Cindy Lauper’s “She-bop” wasn’t about dancing… of course I was 30 at the time, so there’s really no comparison. LOL
Reminds me of when The Doors performed on Ed Sullivan and agreed to not use the word “higher” in the song “Light My Fire” but used it anyway on live TV.
Added to the legend.
Catchy little tunes are computer viruses for your brain. They drive out thought that a beat you can dance too isn’t enough to make music good. Once in a while there is a good song in the top 40.
How about Ed Sullivan not allowing Elvis’ hip shaking on TV. No one would blink at that now. It’s a phase that every artist goes through, it’s written in the bylaws…”must push SOMEONE”S moral button”
And do you realize Ed gave them to you guys? Do you get that Ed knew EXACTLY how they’d act and let them on anyway? Ed may have been cooler than you can imagine for that age.

I like the song, but she went over the top with the sex. It’s just trampy.
