Gave up coffee for 6 years, price got too high back in the 80’s. Was horrible. Gave up smoking; took my wife three days to realize I’d quit. Not problem, there. Was easy! Don’t understand that…………

I never smoked, my friends do. I never quit drinking, my friends didn’t. I’ll never change me eating habits, nor will my friends. If my friends quit all that stuff, I’d quit my friends, but only because quitters usually become PITAs about what you’re doing wrong that they’ve stopped doing.

It’s easier and more effective to give up booze entirely than to “manage” a drinking problem. The best way to cut down your smoking is to stop cold turkey (as opposed to roast duck). Unfortunately, the same strategy can’t be used with eating habits…

Thanks to a metabolic disorder, there are many vegetables I can’t eat, and those few that I can couldn’t keep me going. Veganism would kill me.
