Case in point: Denis the Menace always stays the same age.

Seems to me Calvin is eternally six years old.

Let me point out: grandpas, grandmas and dogs also rarely die in comic strips. Too gruesome. So you are safe.

And to balance the way grandpas and little kids never age in comic strips, spammers should age twice as fast.

The children and parents got older in “For Better or For Worse”; the first dog died, a grandparents died … the cartoonist is now redoing the story from the beginning.

That was sweet. Sometimes I wish my kids would stay little for a while too. But then I wonder what their future holds. What mixed feelings…

Living in a comic strip world? Yes? No worries! If pets and parents are aging and dying, chances are, you are living in the real world.

Are some of you being facetious, or was this really a newsflash for you? Did you think you were sharing a great discovery? “Oh yeah - have you noticed, there’s that one strip where it seems like the characters NEVER AGE…and that one…and that one…but they don’t in “FBOFW”…”! Good grief - how often do you read the comics? It would be interesting to list all (2 or 3) of the strips where they DO age (although, as someone pointed out, they age in “Gasoline Alley” but stall out at a certain point). Anyway, great strip!

Charlie Brown never got older, Lil Abner never got older and a slew of others also. But at some point, for some reason they all died off.

@ak4mc - amen to that! @mark walton: sheesh, lighten up! We’re just kidding around - do you have to take issue with everything?
