P2 strikes me as patronizing to the readers. Ohhh, Shaquille O’Neal. I was wondering who this mysterious “Shaq” was. Thank you, kind writer, for having Heather enlighten us.
Heather should have told him she threw the key block for Milford last football season after figuring out that when she was in the game, the defense always knew it was a pass play. It’s still sad that Gil didn’t realize that.
P1, Well, Jaquan, you’re already a blockhead. Oh, and it sure looks like these two might be holding hands.
P2, Jaquan, getting up close and personal with Heather. Just go for it, dude. What’s the worst that can happen, she screens you out instead of Shaq?
P3, Jaquan just seems to be spewing out random thoughts. He might want to get a CT scan before he changes directions. He may have had a few too many concusions in the NBA already.
Milford Gazette Breaking News- Recent Milford graduate Heather E. Burns, has accepted a full Grant in Aid from Faber College. She will be joining The Fighting Pepperidges gridiron team as a student coaching assistant. Faber Dean Vernon Wormer was quoted, “Faber could use a gal like Heather.” Mrs. Marion Wormer was unavailable for comment, whereabouts unknown after the damn Senior Honors dinner last evening. submitted by Marjie Ducey.
Maybe Heather can start coaching the Mudlarks through their two a days, as former State Champ Coach Gilpa has obviously found his true calling and has run off with pool boy Pedro, leaving Mimi and Kaz to practice some coaching moves of their own. God, I can’t believe I am still reading this strip! Old habits die hard, I guess. (Go ahead, EB, have a field day with that one)
So the whole point of all this is to have Heather get into coaching. JQ will just return to basketball and forget football after dragging us through all this practice crap for a month or two.
In all reality , tomorrow while in the midst of deep conversation crossing the parking lot both JQ and Heather are run over by an out of control drivers ed student. Football starts , Kevin Pelwickie arrested for vehicular homicide .

A knack for coaching, yet literally nothing about soccer seems to have stuck.

Hopefully the end is near for this stupid story line…it is downright goofy. Jaquan better be careful Heather is not 18 yet!!!! But she will be soon.

In this ‘PC’ era (and at her age) all she has to do is ‘declare’ herself a coach and then she just automatically is one. Isn’t that how it works?
