I just used my welding helmet. It blocks all UV and IR rays, the ones that can damage your eyes. Then you adjust the shade to the brightness you prefer. 12 was about right for us.
Uh, not to sound dumb but why is she telling him to wait until night? The only thing you can see if you have them on is the sun. If you wear them at night, you won’t see anything.
We went up to Madras, Oregon for the eclipse. It was my first, and my husband’s fourth. Wow. So impressive to see the corona, sun spots, and best of all, 4 plants, one was Mercury which you can never see as it’s so close to the sun. Stayed in Bend in an apartment created as part of the barn on a horse ranch (reserved a year ago). Altogether, a great trip!

I was still lucky to buy myself a pair of those weeks before the eclipse on a grocery trip which made me learn of the eclipse

Why doesn’t he know what they are? He’s definitely old enough to have also been watching the eclipse.

Here in the UK we had a “Red Moon” a couple of years ago. I stayed up past 3am to see it.
I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow but it was worth it.
