Oh, I can see they look older. I wish they didn’t grow up. I would love to watch them be kids forever. Also Lem will be missed. you know, once you get to know him.
I agree, they do look older, but considering how young the comic is, John Allison should slow down with the growth of the characters, because they’ve been so much fun as kids! Better yet, make them babies again on a future edition, a good example would be the Archie comics.
We were told a couple of days ago that Shauna and Mildred have turned 13 and that Lottie is still 12. The Mystery Boys and Girls still have a fair amount of growing up to do before they catch up with the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew! (I like how this drawing shows that Shauna is indeed the “big-hair queen of Second Year”. Hair-spray those alien onions into submission, Shauna!)

By 2016 they will be old enough to have sex and get pregnant. And for Lottie to lament the loss of her far sight to see the wee ones and other beings.
I like the idea they grow up.

I just realized that those backgrounds look a bit awkward in light of Lottie’s comments two days ago about eggs and “wigglers”.
