I moved from the Great Lakes to Dallas. My friends asked me if I didn’t miss the change of seasons. I told them that there ARE four seasons in Dallas: Hot, D@#n Hot, Hot, and the Rainy Season.

Wow. That Alaska cruise was three months — a quarter of a year — ago, and I’ve still got whales on the brain. What magnificent creatures.
I want to feel the water like they feel it, but I don’t know how to prepare krill and I can’t get any blubber to stick on my frame. So I keep trying to get better at holding my breath. And the other day when somebody was tailgating the car I was in, I was tempted to show the offending driver my flukes.

A friend and I once dreamed about summering in Alaska and wintering in Belize.

My wife lived in San Francisco once. She said it was very temperate all the time. And very boring.

To enjoy the sun, you must have rain sometimes.
