I think it’s supposed to be the Scandinavians — and why wouldn’t it be? — who say that there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. That kind of stoic recklessness is what makes me proud to be a little bit Scandinavian myself. Though you can have bad weather AND get away with bad clothing if you’re inside a building and enjoying the fact that somebody from yet another region invented furnaces and air conditioners. And that somebody probably close to the equator invented insect repellent.
