And following on a couple of points from yesterday.
When I was young we had a cat who liked the birds to mob her. She thought it was fun. The birds would swoop down, and just when they thought they could get away with it, she would go up and get them. She once brought one in, completely unharmed, and released it into the kitchen. It flew behind the stove, and got stuck there. I was the only one home at the time, so I had to take the stove apart to get the bird out. She just sat there, with her front paws primly together, and looked shocked at the …er… colourful Australianisms I was using.
I am a fan of Rumpole, but the term “She Who Must Be Obeyed” (often SWMBO) originated in the novel “She”, by H. Rider Haggard. Commonly used to refer to wives, but even such potentates are subordinate to our feline rulers.
Thought Mocha had gotten out(never been outside) and was really frightened as we do not have a Tommy to protect him and bring him back home. Turns out Mocha was just in a new ‘leave me alone’ place and perfectly content while we frantically searched.

So happy that Tommy is back. Now what about the robber mice? And that very, very old cat whose name I forgot? (darn) And how about the one who is the only cat that ever caught the red dot? I suppose my list could go on.
Oh Georgia! I got my morning paper & its black & white format did awful things to your beautiful artwork! Everything was so dark & shadowy. I’m glad to be able to go online to see your work, but feel sorry for those who can’t. Just wanted you to know. The Boys deserve better treatment!
Back in the 80s, one of our cats would lie on the deck and the birds would land on it next to him. They would peck all around a bit looking for seeds (there weren’t any), even around his head and Bucky would never even wake up. Or if he did, he never bothered them.
My Dean loves belly rubs – flops down and expects lots, not just 3 and bite – but there is no way any birds would get near him, he is a hunter. I love Tommy and his Hawaiian shirts, I bought myself a mug with Tommy on to go with my BCN calendar, gives me a happy boost in the mornings before heading to work :)
Reminds me a lot of King from the local registered cat colony. He’ll let anyone pet him. And if you have food, even better. My Natasha (wish she was still here), if she liked you, she would flop onto her back and let you rub her tummy, without consequence.
we have a neighborhood cat, drogo, who apparently keeps a lookout on our house. alot of the time, taking out the trash, getting in or out of the car, etc, here he comes, loping along from across the street, meowing for the food he knows i’ll set out for him coz i’m a sucker for kitties.

Tommy is the sweetest cat! He’s swift with a hug and generous with his belly rubs, and he never hesitates to allow others to smell his nose.

Is Puck on a furry mat in the first panel, or is Elvis so upset at the appearance of Tommy that he became detached from his tail?

Good old happy-go-lucky Tommy…that Hawaiian shirt of his always makes me smile out loud…it so perfectly suits his carefree personality.

Does Tommy belong to the People, too? He was first seen before they moved into the apartment. Apparently he moved with them?

@MarshallJPeters No, Tommy does not belong to the People. He’s visiting.
