Beauticians will tell you “blot, don’t rub” to towel dry hair. Of course if you expect the hair to be there, and you try to scrub hard enough to get it dry, you won’t have hair there very long.
Maybe the Rug Burn is from reaction to a wool “rug”? Nah, no Plugger would wear one.

Either use more fabric softener in the laundry, or stop using burlap towels.

I just wear baseball caps whenever I go out. Now they have hats with hair sewn in.
