The war will not be over until the Confederacy has erased its past and resumed its effort to achieve sovereignty and then conquered the rest of the world, of course. Total global domination IS the only path to world peace and universal prosperity, obviously.
If you had a farm machine that could do the work of 100 slaves, would you keep 100 expensive slaves around? Would the industrial revolution have ended slavery if it had come sooner? OR would have this massive pool of cheap labor wind up in coal mines or factories in the North?
