    My wife (and her whole family) can carry a grudge for years— it’s the only exercise they get. I keep trying to explain that friends forgive and forget: they let us vent to, and on, them, and expect the same in return. It’s just part of the give and take. She still is touchy— very touchy.

    Little kids forget their dust-ups much more quickly than adults do. Maybe Madeline should consider Dill and Alice’s perspective here….
