Depends how many ideas Gilligan has.

The best ‘herald’ I saw was a farside comic with a cat mailman delivering squirrels.

I suspect the ‘canine’ Apocalypse are a lot more frequent than we may think. When you have a tail and a fantastic sense of smell, things get out of hand suddenly and frequently.
