There needs to be a separate office for drunk (or high) outrage and/or umbrage, and the sober kind. (Well, the non-mind-altering-substance kind……….)

People get offended by the oddest things. The existence of other languages, for example. Last year, I had a customer complain that people were speaking Spanish in broad daylight. My town is on the U.S.-Mexico border, and its population is (and always has been) 85-90% Latino. So, of course, my answer was “Sir, if the locals aren’t offended by your existence, I don’t see why you should be offended by theirs.” Somehow, this didn’t make him any happier.

And Mary Whitehouse has just taken umbrage… could be a bit of trouble there…

They are going to make a killing! This could just be what print media needs to get back in the black!

I find this comic trope to be highly offensive! And I take (not “buy”: take!) umbrage!
