That’s the kind of person that it’s SO MUCH FUN to play the “Restaurant Phone Pile Game” with. Everyone at the table sets their phone on silent, then puts them in a big pile in the center of the table before ordering, and the one person that breaks first, and grabs their phone to check for any new texts or messages has to pay for EVERYONE’S meal! It’s GREAT when there are 8 or 9 people at the table.
Wow…the last vacation I had, my husband and I drove down to SC to visit his mother. Our older daughter wasn’t quite 2 years old and I was pregnant with our second. We drove at night and headed right into Hurrican Ivan at about 2AM. Definitely a memorable vacation.
Last time I was in Germany (Bavaria specifically) we stayed at an awesome place, Schloss Schwarzenfeld. My program manager said it was a converted castle, I don’t think it was but the walls were thick enough for it. Fantastic place and economical, $63 per night in 1999 dollars. They don’t seem to gouge you like they do here in the U.S. check it out on the web.
I stayed at an old medieval castle. The roof was leaking and there were holes in the walls. No wifi at all. Of course, we were there as volunteers to repair it.

The snobbery is “We stayed in an old castle.” intimating that it is soooo expensive that they can afford it and you can’t.

Elite? Staying in an old castle isn’t that expensive or difficult these days, since many are made into B&B or hotels for normal peeps.

Nothing worse than hearing rich people complain about something most of us will never be able to afford.

Ha! Good one! Bravo! … So, Don & Pat, does Jimbo have an alter ego…? (Gently asked.)

It would have been fun if they had shown enough of the gentleman standing in front of her. I’m sure he would have been grinning!
