I like to give my condolences to this week’s First Responders Roll of Honor. I know it was 11 years ago, but it’s sad when things like this happen especially to a man and his best friend. All that motorists could have done was just get out and talk to the officer. No, stupidity had to step in and now Florida has lost two of its finest. Enough said.
So, Sprocket’s little jest about being needed “to go out for cigarettes” may turn out to be cruelly ironic. We shall see what the next turn of the screw is.
I do think Silver was ever the scammer in deceiving Sister Dearest intentionally about just how the 20 large came about, though. No harm, no foul. Or?
Nobody explicitly commented on the “Domain won’t need either of us any longer.” It seems that the Nitrates are escaping (or trying to) before Domain can “dispose” of them.

The plans well-laid shan’t be displayed. Domain must never know
Grab twenty grand, or so they’ve planned, get flush and off they go
To run for smokes a killing joke, Nitrates in waters deep
To scam Domain a scheme insane, he’ll put this pair to sleep.
They’d run away this very day, secure a happy ending
Or wind up caught. Severe scene fraught. Beneath the ground unbending.
Honesty’s a must they say, to live outside the law
Keep it clean. Polished to sheen. Avoid the dragon’s maw.
Yet best laid plans may go awry despite tip top intentions
Live to tell the tales at best, while serving long detentions.
On deep regret the sun may set, a happy ending soiled
That fresh clean start could fall apart, a brand new day now spoiled.

Play the game
It ends the same
Win or lose
You stake your claim
It always ends
No matter the name
With broken dreams
You carry the shame

What’s this “added $20,000 to the price Domain asked for”? He added $450,000, and asked for $20,000 for themselves, right?
