Herr Voss is alive! Perhaps he’s changed? I doubt he retained any stolen talents, but I wonder if his encounter with Envy will leave him with any aftereffects. That left eye has seen a lot of traffic and he seems to be covering it now with his hand.

I also imagine he’s changed a bit emotionally, at least in his general view on life. Of course, some people are determined not to learn. We’ll see tomorrow, I suppose.

Quite a nice ending so far. Voss seemed to finally see that there is a price to pay for envy and may change his ways.

Look how well Ben & Mal are working together (even if it is in the desire to kick Voss). I suspect this is the best Ben has felt about himself in a long while; he doesn’t usually seem that self-assured.

I expect Wolfe will be the only one who can speak with Voss who has probably lost the ability to speak English or any language but German. On a side note, I love Ben’s cute upturned nose!

Even Ben’s onboard with the kicking idea…that tells you just how much Voss peeved everybody today.

Although I suspect that Voss lost all or some of his gathered abilities, I have to wonder if he has memories, so he not only could know that he once had those strengths, but the memories might ease learning for him. Perhaps it was not only his persistent impatience and jealousy that got in his way?

In the end he decided to refuse Envy even after being reminded of how much he had to lose, and in doing so was punished. Standing up for what was right finally gave him the chance to become the person he has wanted to be once he could put envy to the side.

On one hand, he should be punished. After all, how long has his victims had to suffer, because they could not do their jobs? And let’s not forget that his vast wealth was obtained illegally, especially by stealing talents. He owes a lot of people a lot of apologies.

On the other hand, Voss probably didn’t get the right kind of guidance growing up. He was made to feel he would always be a good-for-nothing. It became even worse when comparing himself to Wolfe and his natural skills, and that made him a suitable target for Envy. Voss finally understands that Wolfe only wants his friendship. The fact that Voss fought Envy’s control and told Wolfe to destroy the gem; that was a definite cry for help.

Now, let’s see what Wolfe can do for him. Who knows? Perhaps Wolfe can help Voss discover his own true talent, whatever that may be…

Wow, Ben’s open to violence? That’s pretty extreme for him… also, Ron’s right. I bet one or two Barbers are about to show up.
