I emailed the White House today. I believe the flag is just a piece of fabric that represents our country. Our REAL values are in the parchment upon which was written our Constitution. Nowhere does it say to stand and salute. The Donald seems to believe we should all “Sieg Heil”, march in lockstep like the North Koreans, and have a picture of “Dear Leader” in every room. Apparently he hasn’t heard that SCOTUS has said flag burning, et al, are forms of free speech.Twitter is free speech, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t hate speechat timers.
Of course, Kaepernick wasn’t the only one sitting or kneeling during the anthem—Marshawn Lynch among others did—even before this weekend. I notice they are currently on teams. And as for the idiots who think that only black (or biracial, in Kaepernick’s case) players are protesting: Here in Missouri, a 97 year old (white) WW II veteran took a knee in solidarity with the players protesting for liberty and justice for all. Trump, an ignorant cowardly perverted bigot, doesn’t really care about the flag, the national anthem, or the United States of America. He just needed yet another distraction, because Mueller is closing in on him.
Meanwhile, in Puerto Rico there’s mass devastation and nary a peep from Fearless Leader. He, along with his goose stepping minions, can’t seem to understand the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Don’t even understand why Kaepernick’s name is even in this strip. To scream and gnash your teeth that he was let go due to the demonstration is to ignore his playing record. The man is a one trick pony that as soon as the other teams figured him out, was ineffective as a quarterback.
