The colorist is off his meds again. :)

We have a tempest in a teapot here in the States where grossly overpaid professional athletes are kneeling during the playing of the national anthem to protest perceived injustices. That got me to wondering why the anthem is played before the game. If it’s a international competition, i.e. the Olympics, the World Cup, etc., I can see the point. But a game between, say, Denver and Cincinnati? Makes no sense to me.

Do they play the British anthem before the matches in England?

I was going to check the Mirror’s rendering of the team colours but this strip does not exist in the Mirror yet. Looks like GC is ahead of the Mirror for once.

BTW it appears that the strip is sent to the US uncolored for some reason.

I’ve never been to a football match but I wouldn’t mind going to see Newcastle United play. I just don’t know how to go about it.
