She’s got a point there. What if whoever steals your identity improves your credit score? Do you prosecute them, or thank them?
It took years of doing but I finally have a decent credit score. I would hate to think someone else is responsible. Personally i would thank them.
If you have credit or an account somewhere, your info is already in the hands of data thieves; count on it. It’s just a matter of time and (un)luck when an ID thief will buy you data and try to use it.
