Hey, buddy. I’ll be your friend. I’d be very happy if all you bought me was a car. I’ll take the latest Equinox model. Could I have enough to pay off my student loan and my two credit cards, too? It would be very little compared to what you win. My credit cards have a total combined limit of $7500 and I’m not even close to the limit on the one. My student loan should be paid off in 2021, so that can’t be much balance, either!

I don’t play the lotto, but I do enjoy a certain cable channel’s sweepstakes. Years ago, I came home from and found my siblings chatting after lunch. When I joined them, one of my sibs said that they were discussing what they would do if they won. They were talking about paying off the families’ debt. (Student loans and credit card debt, plus our parents’ mortgage.)I responded that that hadn’t occurred to me and pointed out that after taxes the prize wasn’t all that large. One sib was very upset that I was so selfish. :/ I’m not sure but that that incident has caused permanent damage to our relationship. :(
