On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep, Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream: ‘Tis the star-spangled banner, O long may it wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly sworeThat the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,A home and a country, should leave us no more?Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slaveFrom the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O thus be it ever, when freemen shall standBetween their loved homes and the war’s desolation.Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n rescued landPraise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,And this be our motto: ‘In God is our trust.’And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall waveO’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Anybody who has ever been to a ball game has seen plenty of people walking around, buying over-priced pseudo-food at the concession stands, wobbling a little from their pre-game tail-gating, taking pictures, or otherwise ignoring the person singing a bad song badly. Plus, in most cases, they will shout out the team’s name instead of the “brave” at the end. Yet when people demonstrate in favor of liberty and justice for all, they get booed? There’s a huge difference between empty symbols and true patriotism, and any TRUE patriot wants to improve the country he loves, and will do what he can to ensure liberty and justice for ALL.
The kid’s no John Vincent, but that’s not bad for holding a note.
In this case, Thatababy might be calling back to the national anthem as played when a TV station was going off the air for the night. (Yep younglings, back before cable TV most stations went ‘dark’ between around 1am to around 6am.)

I have an idea for the football players. They should all claim to be Jehovah Witnesses; and that the flag is a graven image!
