Honey: Sir, I've got a reporter on the line. He wants to know why you only have one name. Duke: Tell him I came by it honestly...on my first day of school, my mother dropped me off with a tag that just said "Duke" pinned to my shirt. For some reason, she never came back to pick me up. Honey: What? Duke: So that's how I grew up without a last name. Honey: That's so...so sad. Duke: Yeah. Fortunately, you didn't need one in the porn industry.

My, how his memory has deteriorated! Back in the 80s, he remembers college and his mother at his graduation. Or was that high school?

Not necessarily a contradiction. He also at some point referenced “one of three women” who could have been his mother, if I recall.

I always thought his first name was most likely Raoul. But maybe that would have been too blatant.
