I was eight when color TV came to our home. The color wasn’t very good, even then, except for Disney’s Wonderful World of Color. If President Eisenhower came on, you were screwed. All channels. The best show on TV was The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, a cartoon in prime time. Along with The Jetsons and The Flintstones. Lost in Space started out being shot in B&W and color later on. Rin Tin- in, The Lone Ranger, The Roy Rogers Show, The Mickey Mouse Club and Sky King were shot in B&W. The closest thing we had to a video game was the Etch-A-Sketch.
I watched some TV where the TV set had a magnifying glass on the front to make the picture bigger. Our Antenna had to be turned by hand from outside so my dad clamped some vice grips on it so us kids could turn it.

He was lucky to have +3 channels. We had 2 channels for most of the 60’s. TV was NOT that good back then.

Colour? We didn’t have a colour TV until I got married and left home. OK ‘we’ is used incorrectly here. I only saw colour TV at other peoples’ houses.

Anyone remember Winky Dink on Saturday mornings?

When you bought a new TV home, all you had to do was plug it in to the wall and it worked. No cable box, no HDMI cord. Maybe rabbit ears :>

Not all that long ago, a reasonable amount of commercials, and at the same volume as the show. Thank goodness for DVR`s today!
