    No, but (from the Wikipedia entry for pepperoni):

    The term “pepperoni” is a borrowing of peperoni, the plural of peperone, the Italian word for bell pepper. The first use of “pepperoni” to refer to a sausage dates to 1919.

    I like mushrooms in spaghetti bolognese but I don’t think I would like it very much on a pizza.

    I call mushrooms “snot weeds”, because that’s what they taste and feel like to me. (And no, have never eaten snot, so don’t ask me how I know that’s what mushrooms taste like.)
