It’s a really mean way of manipulating a person whom you are supposed to care about. However, enabling them to ‘play’ their nasty games only gives them power, which is what they want.
I never quite know how I feel about some of the stuff in this strip – certainly this resonates, but at the same time the daughter’s inability to recognize how others feel when she does this to them feels more tragic than funny.
