If it overflows the filter basket, then its too much

Leave a little room, grou do expand a bit when wet

Went to a church dinner one time where they had assigned coffee making duties to a non-coffee drinker. He thought the one pound package of coffee grounds was the pot sized serving and dumped the whole thing in. Plus, it was the fine ground coffee for the cone-shaped filters. The pot was a 40-cup percolator and the fine grind plugged the percolator basket holes so all the coffee flowed over the sides of the basket instead of through the holes in the bottom.

Bottom line: Never assign coffee-making duties to a rookie without adequate supervision!

Depends on the size of the pot you are making. Way over if it is an 8 cup coffee maker, It’ll be a mite strong for some coffee drinkers if it’s in the 40 cup maker, Though it would be perfect for me as I love strong, black coffee.
