Can someone explain the random attacks on public broadcasting being interjected by some commenters? It is truly strange. Perhaps some trumpbot or putinritzer has targeted GoComics?
A searing commentary on prejudice and how we dehumanize others based on assumptions about them based on no information (which, I know, is the definition of prejudice, but i wanted to clarify that I’m not simply talking about racism (pedantic much?))!
Although I am a published poet myself (small magazines in the U.S. for longer poetry and Japan for haiku) I don’t feel I can judge modern poetry after Wallace Stevens—in my mind perhaps the last of the great poets. People now define poetry differently than we used to—everybody gets a shot. I liked Satch’s piece; it seems to come straight from his heart and uses the language of the observer. Good one, Satch! Let’s see the one about eating dirt!

I kinda like the poem. It has a certain je ne sais quoi.

I like it. It’s sort of edgy.

Sadly, most amateur poetry I’ve heard is decidedly worse than Satchel’s.
