Now that place will forever be known as Sandra’s place. On the downside, it doesn’t do much for the resale value.

You know, Sandra loved Stanley. She really did.

But he was 10 years older, almost a father figure…

and liked making all the decisions.

She had lived at home until she married…

her father was a minister, and Sandra wore, read, and ate whatever he told her to.

When her parents, and then Stan, all eventually passed on,

Sandra mourned…. and then finally had to practice making her own decisions.

Some were probably better than others…

The neighbors were happy she got the shabby brown house repainted..

But aren’t really thrilled with the new aqua, pink and lavender color scheme…

nor her motorcycle, her pet pig, or her backyard “medicinal” garden.

And the sculpture on the porch startles passers-by.

But Sandra, at last, is happy in her own skin, and her bright red dress.

    Happy x3…. Saw your description…. Interesting….

Without a picture I can’t tell whether this idea is way off base…

but… made in Japan, sitting down, waving …

makes me wonder whether she’s a sort of take-off on a maneki neko

the Japanese “beckoning cat” often found inside near the entrance or on the front counter of Asian businesses.

    https://www.tokyo-smart.com/1259-large_default/shiro-koban-hidarite.jpg

They’re considered lucky… you’ll see at least one in almost every Japanese and a large number of Chinese, Korean and Thai restaurants.

They have one raised paw, usually straight up and palm forward… sometimes it’s set in loosely or even motorised to “wave” up and down.

Then again, she may be in nothing like that pose…

and I’ve never seen any animal used other than a cat….

But if it IS a “maneki Clo” it could be quite collectible.

The Japanese don’t use the clover leaf as a symbol of luck… but we do…. so if she’s holding a 4-leaf clover, it goes with that “good luck” theme.

Love to see a pic so I could tell … here or e-mail.

Alexikakos…. did you mean to post that stuff 10 years ago?

I mean on the Cleo comments of course…

    That reminds me, actually…..

It’s been a while since I posted a link to “Cleo and Company” … by Nighthawks with help and original work by StelBel….

I also think that Sandra went to my grandmother’s estate sale. I am pretty certain that chair came from grandma’s house.Susan, I think the neighbors only -say_ that they don’t like Sandra’s herb garden. The other day, when Sandra went on her day trip out of town, the neighbors had a little garden party over there. Which would explain to Sandra, if she knew about it, where all the empty Doritos bags came from.

According to the BBB&BB ( Ballard Bust Builders & Beautification Bureau ) Sandra’s big bust is beneath the benchmark for the believable beau ideals becoming to the block.
