Take a left and go ‘til you get to where the Radio Shack was and then go right until you see the place that used to be the record store. Turn right there and go straight for three blocks after you pass the vacant lot that used to have the KFC. If you get to the parking lot that used to be a Burger Chef, you’ve overshot by a block.
I actually got directions which included “where the junior high burned down.” Expecting to find burned out remains, I was barely able to make out a clean slab of the original foundation, almost hidden in the grass. Most of the building was still standing, totally undamage as though it were a totally different school.
