Since he had to ask that after tapping her on the head, I think he meant getting over the feeling of wondering if she had died in the night. It’s an old person thing.
We just had 45 years. I am so thankful that she is still there when she wakes me up and asks, “Are you ok?” What a Blessing she has been.Of course I sleep on top of her. She couldn’t get away. Well next to her.

Our health has taken some hits recently, so whichever of us wakes up first usually checks to see if the other one is still breathing. So far, so good.
