I like this strip, but one thing about it that bothers me is that Patrick Marrin seems to think monks are simpletons. A monk would not do this. They know science. The fundamentals of genetics were formulated in a monastery.
Even Brother Leo. He’s supposed to be a sort of Holy Fool, which is nice. But he shouldn’t be ignorant. He’ll sometimes ask the Pope elementary questions about the Bible. He prays a form of the Daily Office. He should know the Bible inside and out.
