It does seem like professional league punishments are arbitrary, and sometimes capricious. Why is one player afforded leniency for an infraction, while another receives sever punishment for a similar transgression ?
Curry deserved a one game suspension, at least. A lesser player certainly would have had to sit out one or more games.
Speaking of suspensions… I find it hysterical that Jerry Jones, who was one of the major, behind-the-scenes powers that kept the NFL and Roger Goodell’s feet to the fire in punishing the New England Patriots in the Deflategate fiasco, and one of the owners that pushed hard for upholding Brady’s suspension, is now trying to unseat Goodell for suspending one of Dallas’ darlings ! Talk about hypocrisy !!
Conversely, even though I have always hated Jones and the Dallas Cowbells, and would love nothing better than to see them lose one of their stars for six games, I really believe Elliot’s suspension is not only arbitrary and unfair, but a perfect example of Goodell’s God playing.
Much as it pains me to say this, I find myself on Elliot’s side – which (grudgingly) puts me in agreement with Jerry Jones.
Kevin Durant sat out the last Warriors game with an injury. The Warriors trailed by 1 point at halftime. They put up 44 points in the third quarter and won by 25. WARRIORS. (I love living in San Francisco)
