The ground temperature at that very spot could shortly change if Roscoe finds what he’s looking for.
Chet has always preferred the superficial.
Chet should change his tactic and work on developing truffle-sensing techniques (with Roscoe’s assistance, of course).
Liverlips… yeah….
Roscoe is studying shallow ground migration…
or I suppose I should say underground migration, to be clear.
Moles, gophers, the occasional rabbit….
and that one time he found that crazy Rodney Gifford,
who, since his retirement, has dug 47 human-size tunnels throughout the Ballard and King Streets neighborhood.
One gave way under Mrs. Percardy’s feet when she was watering her prize petunias.
Now whenever she sees Roscoe sniffing, she gives him a Liv-a-Snap.
But none for Chet.
Chetting to see if the landscape is done.
Very interesting occupation……but why? I guess we all need a hobby.
One begs to ask why?
It has yet to penetrate the depths of Chet’s addled mind, that the shallow ground temperature behind and beneath Roscoe, always tends to be a bit warmer ( and moister ).
It’s only when he charts the results that he realizes there always seem to be “anomalies” when Roscoe assists in his research…
He’ll discover that frozen ground is occuring later and later during the Winter season.
After someone tried to sell Chet volcano insurance, he’s been concerned.
