As ALESSANDRO WALTER said there is a speed limit on Italian highways. However, to Italians it is a matter of pride to consider the speed limit as the lower speed allowed.

There are no unlimited highways in Italy, although speeding is not that uncommon. Only autobahns in Germany have no speed limits.

Because the speedometer only reads km/h, no matter how slow you go, it still looks like you’re speeding!
