I miss those wonderful days of my childhood…now with my parents deceased, my kids spread around the country and other relatives not speaking to each other…well, these holidays are no longer happy times. Enjoy these wonderful days with family…they can so easily change as time marches on.

While I live in a country where Thanksgiving Day isn’t a national holiday, nevertheless, I celebrate in my heart. I am thankful for the love and joy I have found with my Ecuadorian family, and the memories I have of those Thanksgivings spent with my late parents and family in the States.

Too all of you, I wish you peace and love and the realization that, no matter what your circumstances are, there’s still a lot to be thankful for.

The holidays (Halloween thru New Years) was my mother’s favorite time of year. She made everything wonderful, exciting and magical. My sibbies and I do the same with our children. The holidays are a big thing for all us siblings. We all love the holidays. A a child, my abso fav was Halloween (for obvious reasons)….with Turkey day a close second. We had no less than 20 people (relatives) over for Thanksgiving. It was loud, busy, and wonderful with endless food, music, games, cousins, friends the works. As a kid at our house, xmas was every kids dream, not just for the presents, but for the atmosphere of love and happiness. Us kids loved watching my mom’s excitement and it rubbed off on us..big time. Thanks mom :-) I wish I could go back in time and experience the holiday season when we were kids.
