My personal observation of the behavior of squirrels when they are around dogs leads me to believe that squirrels enjoy teasing and being chased by dogs at least as much as the dogs enjoy chasing them! :o)
I’d say that qualifies as ‘probable cause’, in the dog world.
Tree rats are a major problem.
