I don’t know about it being manly or not, but Rosey Grier (played for the LA Rams and NY Giants, was a body guard for Robert Kennedy’s wife and subdued Sirhan Sirhan after the assassination) loved to crochet and do needlework. He even authored a book about needlework for men. (Thanks, Wikipedia) Most people would consider him pretty manly. :o)
