I like when folks come on this comic site and comment about Republican candidates when Senator Belfry is quite obviously a caricature of the late Senator Edward Kennedy, a noted “Republican”.
I’m with Rise22 on this one. Plus MisngNOLA - according to Jeff MacNelly (who created the strip), Senator Belfry is a character based on Tip O’Neil. (Right state, wrong politician.)

Where does ours fall now? I believe our elected officials have forgotten their jobs. They aren’t suppose to do what the republicans & democrats want. They are suppose to do what is best for the nation. What is wrong with our government isn’t the fault of the republicans or the democrats, it is our own fault because we only care for ourselves and not the greater good.
divady, you are absolutely correct. I meant Tip O’Neill and yet Ted Kennedy came out. Maybe it was because Teddy was quite the protege’ of Mr. O’Neill.
