Really, Fritzi? Was that really an act deserving of a spanking? It’s not like she took it and went writing on the mirrors and walls with it. She wasn’t making any mess with it that I can see. I mean, I was spanked for a LOT of things growing up, but not when I fiddled around with my mom’s makeup. Got yelled at once or twice. Especially when I went and used her eyebrow pencil and she’d noticed just as we were heading out the door for church. She wasn’t going to take me looking like that so we were delayed while she got the cold creme on my eyebrows to get it off.
Thirty odd years later, Mr. Bushmiller must have recycled (or reprinted) this joke, because I distinctly remember reading the exact same NANCY in the 60s, when I was a kid.

Despite this corporal punishment, over the course of the next 60-plus years, Nancy went on to become . . . a precocious 8-year-old.

There might be a lot less crime if parents used a little TLC like this.

I think this strip is a fake. Fritzi uses hair brushes, not hands. Who REALLY drew this imposter?!?
