Sluggo: Meet me on dat park bench 20 minutes ago.
Nancy: Twenty minutes AGO? Talk sense, will you?
Sluggo: I AM talkin' sense. See dat sign?
Sign reads: STATE LINE
Sluggo: No daylight saving time over there.
DST is a great definition of government. Cut a foot off the blanket top and sew it on the bottom. See how much longer it is! Close to the def of insanity as well.
We as a nation had a whole year on DST back in the 80’s I think, some way of dealing with an ‘energy crisis’ of the day. And kids stood outside waiting for school buses in pitch darkness because of it.
Turn your clocks a couple times a year and shaddup.
The TV Guide showed normal program blocks, as if there was no time change. What happened when the clocks moved? Did programming jump forward or back?
I was in the Denver bus terminal once, right at the time of the change, wondering how this affected the routes and schedules. As far as I could tell, it changed nothing, which seems nigh impossible, but there it was.

This strip was published in 1950, when did DST start being implemented?

Must be near Indiana (circa 1950), then.

Maryland is considering adopting it year round.
sundogusa almost 5 years ago
The entire country should adopt it. Monday is going to suck.

I’d rather stay on standard time year round. But I’d prefer DST year round to the idiocy of flipping back and forth twice a year.

Does “twenty minutes ago” mean “in forty minutes?”

So Sluggo is a Brooklyn transplant to Indiana? Dat makes sense.

I had questions.

Certainly relevant to today, by accident.

Personally, I wish they’d leave it one way or the other.
