At first, I thought he was talking about a sandwich.

At least Nate isn’t trying to poison the teachers (it looks like Nate is going to take matters into his own hands, though). Of course, even though Nate is a troublemaker, he knows not to get too extreme. The only teacher that Nate kind of shows deference towards is Mr. Rosa. He doesn’t really like any of the other teachers and especially hates Mrs. Godfrey. Also, adults have a stronger immune system than children, so they don’t get sick as often.

So teachers aren’t people.

Nate can’t make the teachers sick…Or can he?

Teachers are usually healthy. Unhealthy teachers aren’t good teachers.

Heh. Like Nate, during my school days I’d pray that a teacher would be absent right before a subject I don’t like, especially if the subject has a presentation or a test I’m not prepared for.

Teachers and people. Two completely different things.

It’s possible for a supply teacher to be worse than the regular teacher because they might not know what the students are supposed to be doing and might end up teaching the wrong unit. However, Nate doesn’t really care about his education and would like it if the supply teacher doesn’t know what he/she is doing.

Predictions: 1) Nate goes into extreme lengths to try to make a teacher he doesn’t like like Mrs. Godfrey sick like having a sick relative sneeze into a cup, poisoning them, etc… 2) Speak of the devil, after today’s strip one of Nate’s teachers is actually absent and there’s a sub… The sub can either be a good sub like a fresh college student, or a bad sub like Coach John or Mrs. Godfrey (When the class isn’t social studies of course) 3) It’ll just be a conversation where Nate wishes the teachers are sick and a teacher overhears this and he gets sent into detention again… 4) Others?

Occasionally, we get a good sub in my school, but they’re usually cranky and strict.

I can’t believe that Nate doesn’t like the teachers to be healthy! I wonder if Mrs. Godfrey wants Nate to not be healthy also so she doesn’t need to deal with him..

You know who else we haven’t seen in a while? SPG. It would be awesome if he were to be the sub of whom Nate speaks.

Well after reading what you guys said I’m speechless. I do think however that tomorrow’s comic will be more of Nate convincing Francis that sick teachers are overdue and that they need a sub.

Is this going to be Nate trying to make one of the teachers sick? Because we’ve already seen that. Hopefully this turns in to something else.

What’s he going to do? Put food poisoning in Mrs. Godfrey’s tuna fish sandwich? Put raw fish and band aids in Mr. Galvin’s salad? Whatever he’s going to do, Nate will do anything for at least all the teachers sick, or just one.
