Reminds me of US 52 between Wytheville & Bland Va, which lays west of I-77, when I used to travel it about 15 years ago there was a gift shop & ice cream store at the summit of the mountain, also a tower to lookout for forest fires. I love WV & VA, it is so beautiful, great people too!
Been there and have not let husband know I was right and the GPS was not. Twice as long and after the constant quick curves, a tummy that was not happy the rest of the day!
Hubby and I took this same “shortcut” between NC 23 and 19. The map showed it as a straight line. It wasn’t. Hairpin turns, gravel road. We were both laughing so hard we’d have pulled over if there had been a place to do so.

I’ve discovered that Garmin has instituted an insidious plot to kill off the human race, one GPS-user at a time.

He remembered this road when he was a kid. It seemed so much wider then.

Sometimes it IS about the journey and not the destination.

Pluggers are always happy to share their so called “shortcuts”, no matter how life threatening.

Just set your GPS to “shortest” rather than “fastest”. I know, I’ve been on that road.
